Let a helper plan its next check-in

Understand agent-chosen wake-ups separately from fixed recurring schedules.

Your agents → selected custom agent → Self-scheduling

Before you begin

A compatible Mellow build with the relevant capability configured.

01

Choose the helper

Enable the capability only for an agent with a clear ongoing responsibility. Review the available mode and limits.

02

Give a bounded instruction

Describe what the next check should do and when it should stop. Avoid open-ended repeating actions as the first test.

03

Inspect the pending wake

Check Next Run. Pause or cancel it when the work is no longer needed, and review the run after it occurs.

Controls & reference

Control or conceptHow to use it
Self-schedulingAllows a helper to request a later run within configured limits.
Next RunShows the pending wake-up and available pause, edit or cancel actions.
Mode and limitsBound frequency, planning horizon and quiet-hour behavior.

Try it with a small task

Ask a test helper to check back once on a small planning task, then inspect the scheduled time before leaving it enabled.

If it does not work

  • Wake-ups are single-run requests; repetition requires another scheduled wake.
  • The host must be available, and missed runs follow the configured policy.
